If you are like me and probably half the world’s population your credit history is probably pretty bad. These secured loans are perfect for people like myself who have poor credit. They allow you to receive the loan, but also give you an incentive to pay it back….your own collateral!

Unlike an unsecured loan, a secured loan would ask the borrower for some type of down payment or collateral in exchange for the loan. An unsecured loan does not ask for collateral, however they base their decision strictly on your credit score. It doesn’t make sense for someone with horrible credit to try and apply for a gold card, knowing that they probably won’t be approved, but if they were to apply to a secured loan they would have the better opportunity of getting approved.

By offering your collateral you will have a higher chance at becoming approved as well as making the monthly payments in a timely fashion. You have an incentive, your items. Say you put your house up for collator for the loan, you are not going to default the loan because you can not lose your house!

When considering a secured loan remember that your interest rates will be higher than an unsecured loan, but the end results will be worth it. The main reason for the higher interest rates is that you already have a record of not making your monthly payments on time and the company needs some financial security that you will not default their loan.
There are many secured loans out there and with the use of the internet they are easily accessed, the best way to find the perfect loan for your situation would be to meet with a loan specialist or credit repair company that will assist you in finding the loan that fits your needs.

I know it sounds funny to have to put up collateral or a down payment on a loan but in the end it is all worth it. Your credit score will slowly begin to rise and eventually you will be able to get approved for any credit you want!
